Job Purpose: To oversee Jeeptrade International NG Procurement practice.

Key Relationships (Internal and External): Jeeptrade International team and Clients, CEO of Tripplea Group NG, procurement agents etc.

Introduction:
Typically, responsible for overseeing the purchasing, supplies and logistics operations and staff. Main objective is to ensure all departmental employees are providing high quality work and meeting all Company standards. S/he should ensure that all purchasing requests are completed in an efficient manner, lead cost reduction initiatives, and oversee inventory management and material budgets. The Manager is also responsible for getting Clients’ purchase orders and makes sure that all purchasing procedures are followed. S/he also provide analysis on corporate suppliers and delegate tasks to subordinates as needed. S/he reports directly to CEO, Tripplea Group NG. This job requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five years' experience in the related field. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills are also required. S/he must have basic computer skills and may be required to sit for long periods of time.

Tasks:
• Develop and implement strategies to create an efficient supply chain and reduce commodity purchase costs.
• Work to minimize supplier risk by establishing strategies for risk evaluation.
• Research potential vendors and compare their products, prices, and services.
• Negotiate contracts with commodity suppliers and set up terms for prices and delivery.
• Conduct analyses of market conditions and trends and use this information to predict future supply needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Assigned Commodities: These may change from time to time but currently they are Soya Beans, Sorghum: White & Yellow, Sesame seeds, Maize, Millet, Rice, Fresh & Dried Split Ginger and Dried Hibiscus Flower (Roselle).

Commodity Strategies: Develop commodity strategies including analyzing and developing sourcing strategies; spend compliance and vendor rationalization strategies for these commodities.

Supplier Relationship Management: Manage relationship with all existing and newly recruited suppliers. Relationship includes negotiating pricing, monitoring performance to agreed terms and conditions, and new vendor on boarding when necessary. Collaborate with key suppliers (or buying agents) to expand knowledge of category, and identify opportunities for improvements resulting in a joint benefit to the Company and suppliers. Leverage supplier expertise and/or technology in an effort to harness improvements in reducing total costs.

Contractual Agreements: Develop and negotiate contractual agreements to provide price protection and supply security in consultation with legal, business and technical functions. Execute requirements per terms of the agreements.

Specification Review: Review customer specific product specifications to determine alternate supplier material to introduce enhanced competition. Ability to engage in technical discussions with internal and external partners on assigned commodities. Able to analyze and propose cost opportunities and manage through to completion.

Supplier Quality: Engage suppliers in an effort to provide long term solutions to quality issues.
Develop and lead quality agreement negotiations. Provide recommendations specific to the category being sourced. Coordinate cross functional and business discussions to drive continuous improvement opportunities throughout the organization. Monitor quality and delivery performance of key suppliers.

Risk Management: Develop supplier relationships resulting in optimized supply chain efficiencies and security of supply. Evaluate supplier's capabilities and capacities while implementing plans to ensure adequate supply of goods and services. Negotiate agreements with suppliers that mitigate or spread the overall risk.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

• Create planning tools and management reports in conjunction with Management (where applicable) that provide a more systematic and organized approach to planning the procurement functions.
• Ensure purchasing database integrity including Supplier files.
• Keep current on developments in area of expertise and company purchasing resources, systems, and procedures.
• Develop Commodity strategy to achieve material costs savings targets through detailed analysis of the category portfolio, including consolidation of spend across all geographical areas.
• Aggressively pursue the strategy to ensure competitive advantage for Jeeptrade International and to position Jeeptrade International as a market leader.
• Communicate and promote the strategy internally to Jeeptrade International Management and key stakeholders.
• Ensure strategy execution through close collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Ensure that the Commodity strategy evolves to adequately address the changing market conditions.
• Establish intelligence and market knowledge to enable Jeeptrade International Management make informed decisions.
• Closely monitor the supply market with regards to pricing, commodity trends, supplier capacity, supplier news, industry news and new product developments.
• Identify new supplier entrants and assess their capabilities to offer Jeeptrade International a competitive advantage over the existing supplier base.
• Prepare and distribute a monthly commodity report.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with key suppliers.
• Execute supplier management programs with suppliers, including the development of performance metrics.
• Monitor and report on supplier performance and compliance.
